Vicki Vegas Reviews "The Diamond"

Those long time residents of Charlotte familiar with the hip Plaza Midwood neighborhood know the place to go is The Diamond. This historic diner hasn't changed since it opened in 1945. I have a special connection to this tiny greasy spoon and have decided to share the pure vintage awesomeness of the gem of the Charlotte eatery scene!

Lenore and I getting some lunch this past Sunday, What a treat!

With a kitschy cool atmosphere and an expansive menu The Diamond attracts people from all walks of life. My dad, when he was a young working man in the 1960's, would often lunch with his pals at The Diamond. After his retirement, when I took over the driving, we would occasionally say "let's hit the Diamond for lunch". It was a treat for him as a 70 something to get out of the house and take a food filled trip down memory lane.

If you want to build some memories or even just grab a bite to eat this is one of THE places to go in Charlotte! Check our their menu and more on their history here: http://diamondcharlotte.com/

Never to be left out they also have a bar for the Plaza Midwood night scene.
